American Express Platinum Travel Card’s Benefits and How to Best Utilize Them

I’ve personally found the AMEX Platinum credit card that comes in at a $695 annual cost is ROI positive if I travel at least 4x a year. I compared this card to the Chase Saphire Reserve and Capital One Venture X card but wound up choosing AMEX Platinum because it better suited my qualifications.

To use the majority of the benefits, you must ‘activate’ them. Here is how:

1. Login to your AMEX account → Click your AMEX Platinum card in the top right
2. Click “Rewards & Benefits” in the top right → Scroll down to “Card Benefits” → “View All Card Benefits”
3. Go through the list of all the benefits and ‘enroll’ in them, often having to make an account with other websites (such as Hilton, Clear, etc). I recommend using a password manager like Lastpass to help with saving login information
